A boy sits on a green meadow under tall mountains. He looks up and sees something shining on the top of the highest hill. It shines only when the brightest star in the sky is over the peak. Surprised, he takes out a pencil and paper from his backpack and starts drawing a picture of the mountains. He thinks the shining thing is hidden gold. In the picture, he makes the star that showed him the treasure brighter and says: „I am a boy born under a lucky star.“ Every night, the boy goes to the meadow and dreams about reaching the top and finding the gold he saw. He knows he could take care of his family, have great experiences, and enjoy everything in the world. But he mostly thinks about taking care of his parents so they don’t have to work hard anymore. This thought is so strong that he runs home and starts to pack. He puts a rope, compass, papers, and pencil in his backpack. He says goodbye to his parents and little sister and starts his journey to the unknown. He sits on the meadow and looks at the hills. He takes out a compass, paper, and pencil from his back and draws a map to the top. He looks at the map, crumples it, and throws it away. He draws a new map, looks at it for a while, crumples it again, and throws it away. He does this 3 more times. He is almost giving up when the lucky star shines on his paper. He finds a drawing he made before. The light from the star shines through the drawing and makes a path to the top where the gold should be. The boy takes out his pencil and carefully draws the path on the drawing. He takes his backpack and things and goes through the forest under the meadow to the hills. He jumps over trees and goes around rocks. He comes to a place where the path splits, looks at the map, and knows where to go. „I will be there by morning, this seems easy,“ he thinks. He gets to a big rock under the highest mountain. The map shows to go up. The boy tries to climb, but he slides down after going up just a little. He starts to doubt if he expected too much and if there is really gold at the top. He tries again, gets higher than before, but slides down again. He is not sure what to do. Should he go back or keep going? He sits under the rock and thinks. He looks at the map sadly. Then a path lights up on the map. It’s a sign that he should keep going until he reaches the top. „I am a boy born under a lucky star,“ he says and climbs up the steep rock. It is hard and tiring because he has never climbed a rock before. He learns from his mistakes and ties the rope to the rocks. This way he won’t slide back to the start, just back to where he is tied. His steps are messy and he doesn’t know which rocks are safe to hold onto. He is very tired but keeps going with determination. He grabs an overhang, thinking he is at the top. But he has only reached a flat area under the highest peak. He makes a camp and has mixed feelings. He really wanted to reach the top and is still only halfway there. Tired, he draws with a stick in the dirt near the fire. He redraws the map he is holding. The lucky star shines and a path lights up in the sand, the part he already did. It’s the hardest and steepest part. He looks back at it proudly and is very happy. He realizes he was moving so fast that he forgot to think about what he already did. He falls asleep. In the morning, he wakes up, looks around, and sees that the wind has blown away his backpack, leaving only the rope. But he is not worried. He knows the map by heart, got through the hardest part, and knows he is a boy born under a lucky star, so nothing can stop him now. He continues with just the rope over his shoulder. He climbs the next rock that leads to the top. He climbs so well that sometimes he forgets to tie the rope. He thinks about every step. Sometimes he takes risks and jumps over gaps. He always makes it and gets closer to the top. When night comes, he can’t see where to grab. His star, which has been with him the whole way, lights up small cracks in the rock for him to hold onto. He is very tired but he grabs an overhang and pulls himself to the top. He was right, he sees a pile of gold and lies down tired next to it. He has reached the success he wanted. Lying down, he is amazed. He stands up, walks to the edge of the rock, sits down, and hangs his legs down. He is right at the level of his lucky star. He looks down into the valley and his lucky star shines on the whole path he took to get to the top. He spends the rest of the night looking at his lucky star and remembers all the moments he had. He realizes that the real treasure is the journey he made, not the top he reached. When it gets light, he stands up and says: „I am a boy born under a lucky star.“
